Open Letter To Canadian Mosques

A few mosques in Canada.

Quebec City, Monday September 26th of the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2016,
in the feast of the Holy Canadian Martyrs,

Good evening,

My name is Stefan Jetchick, and I'm very involved in politics in Canada, among others by promoting democracy, rational and courteous debates, freedom of speech, voter education, etc. One way of reaching that goal is to build bridges with the Canadian Muslim community, so that Christians and Muslims Canadians can collaborate "to promote together for the benefit of all mankind social justice and moral welfare, as well as peace and freedom" [Nostra Aetate, #3].

It seems that a good way of building such bridges with the Canadian Islamic community would be to demonstrate to all Canadian citizens up to what point Islam is compatible with our democracy, by showing its eventual tolerance and openness to different opinions. That's why I have four questions for the leaders of Canadian mosques:

First, do you have any objections to me coming and handing out flyers in front of your mosque? The flyer is attached to this e-mail, MS-Word format, but it's also available here on the Internet:

Second, are you open to participating in a public debate on Islam? The Christian side could be represented by well-known people like Robert Spencer (www.jihadwatch.org) and David Wood (www.acts17.net), etc.

Third, do Canadian mosques have a training program for Muslims, especially new immigrants into Canada, to explain to them how to properly understand Islam? Indeed, many people clain that Islam is "the religion of peace", and that people who commit violent acts while quoting the Koran and the Hadiths are in fact "misunderstanders of Islam".

Fourth, if ever I should receive threats from people claiming to be Muslims (threats certified by Canadian law enforcement agencies), following my distribution of flyers, would you be willing to financially contribute to supply me with armed bodyguards for my personal protection?
