I posted it via their comment form on their website) OVERVIEW: ========= www.catholicculture.org claims www.catholicdoors.com is not fully Catholic, but apparently without giving any proof of its assertions. Would it be possible to either amend the site review, or to back up accusations with actual quotes and references, as well as include the e-mail exchanges between both parties? FULL E-MAIL: ============ I didn't look too bright a few days ago when an astute reader of my web site (www.inquisition.ca) noticed that on my page of recommended hyperlinks, one hyperlink (www.catholicculture.org) claimed another hyperlink (www.catholicdoors.com) was not faithful to the Magisterium! As you can imagine, I have to sort this out! I read the site review: www.catholicculture.org/sites/site_view.cfm?recnum=841 and saw the big red "DANGER!" and the serious accusations: "Some of the Bible courses present material that is at worst contrary to Church teachings, at best very misleading." A number of the courses present errant teachings. Examples include: - Denying the immortality of the soul - Maintaining a duality between the soul and the spiritual principle of man - Teaching that man has multiple natures" I also saw: "We have contacted the webmaster about these errors and he has repeatedly refused to change them." I don't want to recommend bad web sites, but on the other hand, I don't want to "bear false witness". I would have appreciated some actual quotes and hyperlinks to the offending documents (really, in this age of Cut-and-Paste, this is really easy to do). I would also have appreciated seeing the e-mail exchanges that occured. Once again, in the era of e-mail and the Internet, it's very easy to show e-mails on a web site. I would also have appreciated finding links to ecclesiastical approval on both web sites, but especially on the one doing the condemning. (Mine is here: www.inquisition.ca/en/imprimatur.htm) I would also have appreciated to see the theological credentials of the person having done the review (not to mention their name!). Finally, please be advised I will post this e-mail on my site, and I will also post replies to this e-mail, since this concerns all Catholics. Thank you very much! Stefan Jetchick

All attempts to obtain details from Peter's Net regarding the allegations made by the wife of Peter, have gone unanswered. Upon exploring the matter, we have come to realize that Peter's Net has been slandering many good websites that opposed their personal belief. Accordingly, if such is the grounds for their accusations, we must be in good company among the persecuted. The Catholic Doors Ministry has always been faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and the 800+ entries in its Guest Book, many by priests, testifies to this matter. The Bible Courses have been used since 1998 by many Catholic priests, army and prison Chaplains, Prison Ministries, parishes/churches for Bible Studies and never has anyone questioned their content. May the grace of God be with you in your ministry in the service of the Lord. In the love of Jesus and Mary, John Arthur

I am in charge of the site review section and always welcome comments/criticism that can help make our reviews better. The Catholic Doors site has been a tough issue for us over the years. We do try to provide specific examples whenever we can; as you stated, with cut and paste, this is often quite easy. However, every so often we encounter a webmaster who takes offense at our review, and rather than trying to fix the faulty material, begins to try to discredit us. The webmaster for Catholic Doors is one of these. When we first published our review, which did include hyperlinks, he would immediately put the material on a different page, making our link look like it reference only innocent material. There is obviously no way for us to constantly check our links, (we can only do so once a year) so we deleted them altogether. Your email reminded me that this review was not up to par, even by our own standards. It has been awhile since we have heard from the CD webmaster, and so it is time to try again to beef up that review. I will do so myself as soon as I can. Thank you again for your email and God bless you this joyous season. Kristina Mirus ********************** Review Section CatholicCulture.org
Hello Mr. John Arthur (CatholicDoors.com) and Mrs. Kristina Mirus (CatholicCulture.org) First, thanks for answering so fast (sorry I took so much time to get back to you). Second, a few disclaimers: 1) I haven't been appointed judge over any of you; 2) Even if I were your judge, I don't have enough information to know who is right and who is wrong; 3) I'm kind of an "s...-disturber" myself, so I'm really not the guy who should try to be a peacemaker! :-) Third, I've posted all our e-mails at: www.inquisition.ca/corr/catholicculture.htm My suggestion would be for CatholicCulture.org to remove its review of CatholicDoors.com until it is updated with evidence, and an "e-mail trail" of communications with the person in charge of CatholicDoors.com is established. As punishment, CatholicCulture.org is sentenced to review my web site! :-D No, that would be cruel and unjust punishment! Instead, we could all pray that the Cardinals elect a new Pope, at least as good as John-Paul II was. Thank you all, Stefan

Dear Stefan, my brother in Christ,
Greetings from Western Canada in the Most Holy Name of Jesus,
Please consider this email as an update to your webpage concerning the
Catholic Doors Ministry. I will address a number of issues.
1. THE NAME OF THE WEBMASTER
First of all, Kristina Mirus makes a claim on the website of
catholicculture.org that she did her last review of the Catholic Doors
Ministry on April 6, 2005. Can someone explain why she has the wrong name
for the webmaster? In her review, did she not read that Fr. Levesque was no
longer the webmaster of the Catholic Doors Ministry, nor has been for the
past two years?
2. THE EMAIL ADDRESS
Can someone also explain why Kristina who is responsible for updating our
website, also has an outdated email address? That email address has not been
used for nearly a year.
3. CREDENTIALS
One of your visitors as asked on your website, "What are the credentials of
Kristina Mirus?" In its early dealings with catholicculture, formerly known
as "Peter's Net," the Catholic Doors Ministry has repeatedly asked about her
credentials. She has repeatedly refused to answer that question. Obviously,
she has none! Nor has Peter, her husband, provided any credentials to
substantiate their qualifications to do what he is doing.
4. EXAMPLES
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "We do
try to provide specific examples whenever we can."
When Peter's Net was repeatedly asked to provide specifics regarding their
alleged concerns related to the website of the Catholic Doors Ministry, it
has refused to do so. How easy it is to vaguely accuse someone while denying
him the right to defend himself! Such was the practice of Peter's Net and
continues under "Catholic Culture" as you experienced last year when no
specifics were provided.
5. DISCREDITING
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "However,
every so often we encounter a webmaster who takes offense at our review, and
rather than trying to fix the faulty material, begins to try to discredit
us. The webmaster for Catholic Doors is one of these."
I ask, who has been discrediting who? Is it not Peter's Net and Catholic
Culture that has been discrediting Catholic Doors Ministry during the past
five years with their so called evaluation of our website?
Since Kristina wishes to address this subject, let us look at it. Did
Catholic Doors Ministry ever change its name in view of the fact that it was
being discredited by Catholic Culture during the past 5 years? Certainly
not! Did Catholic Culture change its name? Yes. It was formerly known as
Peter's Net, a website that did not have much credibility. I do not say this
loosely.
Browsing on the internet, I see that the website "Hidden Truth" has an
evaluation of Catholic Culture (formerly named "Peter's Net.") dated May 13,
2001. As can be perceived from this review, nothing much has changed in 5
years. You can view this evaluation at:
www.hiddentruth.50megs.com/peternet.htm
Furthermore, when reviewing the rating of Catholicculture.org on the website
of the Diocese of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, it becomes obvious that
Catholic Culture's rating has not changed in the last 5 years. It still
remains as a 6 on 10 which does not say much for a website that claims
superiority in Catholic doctrines. Obviously a lot of the voters were not
happy with Catholic Culture and they have not given Catholic Culture a 10 on
10.
It should be pointed out that Catholic Culture has the same rating that it
enjoyed under its former name "Peter's Net." It has unsuccessfully changed
its name to "Catholic Culture" in order to improve its image.
To view this rating, please visit:
www.hamiltondiocese.com/catholicanada/pages/Ratings/
I would like to point out that the aforementioned webpage of links at
"Catholic Canada" was set up to provide us Canadians with a list of Catholic
websites in Canada in order to promote what is Canadian. "Catholic Culture,"
an American based website, managed by Americans, in a desperate attempt to
get visibility on the internet, has managed to have its website listed on a
Canadian "only" website. Should that be permitted?
6. HYPERLINKS
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "When we
first published our review, which did include hyperlinks, he would
immediately put the material on a different page, making our link look like
it reference only innocent material."
The Catholic Doors Ministry has NEVER renamed its webpages because this
would affect the thousands of links on the internet to its website.
More specifically, when Kristina criticized one Bible Course called, "Called
to become holy," it was removed for further review. This became a dead link.
The course was never reviewed and never placed back on the internet because
time did not permit its review.
When Kristina criticized links to other Catholic websites on our links
webpage, those links were removed without question because we did not have
the time to start reviewing the thousands of webpages on every website.
On this subject, I can only say that the truth as been distorted and the
father of liars is Satan.
7. CATHOLIC CULTURE UPDATES
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "There is
obviously no way for us to constantly check our links, (we can only do so
once a year) so we deleted them altogether."
Again, this is a major distortion of the truth. When, last year, you
questioned catholicculture regarding our website, Kristina admitted the
review was long overdue. Two years had gone by and nothing had been done.
This is the standard practice of catholicculture. It is no wonder that it
has a 6/10 rating. If someone revises their website to please them, nothing
changes on the evaluation. So why bother with all the extra work, especially
when the criticism often relates to subjective opinions regarding Catholic
doctrines, these made bypersons with no credentials.
8. IMMORTALITY OF THE SOUL
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "Some of
the Bible courses present material that is at worst contrary to Church
teachings, at best very misleading. A number of the courses present errant
teachings. Examples include: - Denying the immortality of the soul.
While catholicculture makes reference to "some of the courses," it only
refers to 2 of them. Does that mean it only questions 2 of the courses while
it implies otherwise? Or does it mean it questions all 19 courses?
On them matter of the immortality of the soul, the reference was in harmony
with the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Council
of Trent. I quote them below:
("Following St. Paul, the Church has always taught that the overwhelming
misery which oppresses men and their inclination towards evil and death
cannot be understood apart from their connection with Adam's sin and the
fact that he has transmitted to us a sin with which we are all born
afflicted, a sin which is the "death of the soul." Because of this certainty
of faith, the Church baptizes for the remission of sins even tiny infants
who have not committed personal sin." [Cf. Council of Trent: DS 1512]
(Catechism of the Catholic Church # 403)
"If any one asserts, that the prevarication of Adam injured himself alone,
and not his posterity; and that the holiness and justice, received of God,
which he lost, he lost for himself alone, and not for us also, of that he,
being defiled by the sin of disobedience, has only transfused death, and
pains of the body, into the whole human race, but not sin also, which is
"the death of the soul"; let him be anathema ("Anathema" means
"excommunicated"): -- whereas he contradicts the apostle who says; By one
man sin entered into the world, and by sin death, and so death passed upon
all men, in whom all have sinned." [Council of Trent; The Fifth Session;
Celebrated on the seventeenth day of the month of June, in the year 1546;
Number 2.])
The Council of Trent clearly made a reference to the "death of the soul" and
stated that if someone denied such a truth, let them be anathema
(excommunicated.)"
The problem with people like Kristina and Peter, they take bits and pieces
of 15 pages of text and draw their own false and objective conclusions on
the matter. The Catholic Church refers to this practice of the Protestants
as "Sola Scriptura." What Kristina has done is no different. Not only has
she protestanized the Catholic faith to suit her objective views, she is
talking without authority because based on the Council of Trent, she and her
husband were automatically excommunicated for denying the "death of the
soul"
8. DUALITY AND NATURES
I read on your website the following comment from catholicculture, "-
Maintaining a duality between the soul and the spiritual principle of man"
and "- Teaching that man has multiple natures"
"We have contacted the webmaster about these errors and he has repeatedly
refused to change them."
Here, the aforementioned answer to # 7 applies since it is all related.
The Catholic Doors Ministry has never maintained dual souls within a person.
This is Kristina's own conclusion based on her own interpretation of words.
Let us take St. Paul as example. He said, "I do not understand my own
actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate."
Speaking in Canadian language, reference was made to the inner battle within
the person, the newness of the person through the Sacrament of Baptism
versus the old man. The words used, "the good nature" versus "the evil
nature" were intended to reflect "the good inclinations" versus "the evil
inclinations." Kristina took this to literally means that our ministry was
saying there was two separate natures within the person, contrary to a
passage in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This is a Protestant
approach, taking the matter out of context. In Canada, we call this tunnel
vision, seeing what one wants to see and hearing what one wants to hear. You
cannot show the truth to a blind person that does not want to see the truth
because the heart has been hardened.
CONCLUSION
Having clarified all of the above, I quote what a priest once told me, "When
someone destroys religion in the name of religion, it is a sin against the
Holy Spirit." There is no forgiveness for the sin of blasphemy against the
Holy Spirit!
Katrina's destructive zeal to save the world according to her belief does
nothing but damage to the Catholic Church. The Church is the work of the
Holy Spirit Who has been sent by our Lord Jesus to build the Church. These
attacks then become a personal attack on the Holy Spirit. Is it not obvious
that catholicculture is not of God?
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Catholic Church has delegated
territories to Bishops to oversee what goes on in their Diocese. This is
clearly outlined in Canon Law. When people like Katrina and her husband
Peter self-appoint themselves above the Bishops and the Church, claiming
that they are the authority over all the Catholic websites of the world,
then they have a serious problem with pride. Every Bishop has the authority
to condemn them! The Catholic Church has the authority to condemn them! The
Holy Spirit has the authority to condemn them for their attacks on the Body
of Christ! Who is left to defend them when Judgment Day shall come?
